Westercraigs Nursery Continued

I have had a visit to a timber yard where all the trees cut down by the city are delivered. This organisation then processes them with a team of trainees drawn from those out of work and wanting to learn new skills. I was taken there with some of the nursery school pupils.

There are lots of tree trunks and branches scattered around the yard, but what I really was interested in were these sawn planks.

When they are standing up, it is clear how big they really are. The glass pieces created for the school based on the students' designs will be inserted into holes made in these big planks.

Busy Day

Today has been a busy one.

I removed four windows from North Gardner Street, put in temporary glazing and came back to the studio.

Then I soldered the panel I built yesterday.

I took apart two windows and set them for soaking. Then another panel was leaded.

Eleven hours after leaving home, I was back. And I collapsed into a chair for a while, feeling tired but satisfied in a busy day successfully completed.

Art Mag

Just got a copy of the February to March Art Mag, a bi-monthly publication about art in Scotland where there is a small piece about my work in an article "Made in Scotland"
