Client Choice

I was called out to view the repairs needed for a door. Viewed from the outside, there were obvious breaks and a missing piece from the door panel. I was unable to get to the fanlight, but it probably needs work too.

From the inside, even more breaks in the lead could be seen. The whole panel is floppy and only a couple of tie wires are still attached. I explained that the whole should be removed, taken to the studio and completely releaded with replacement glass where required.

This seemed to be a shock. Questions were asked about whether the beading would have to be taken off to get the glass out, due to possible damage to recentness of the paint stripping. It remains with the client to decide on whether to replace the broken glass, or re-do the whole window.
